Dental implants

Dental implants are titanium roots, that are replaced with in the jawbone to resemble a tooth or group of teeth. A screw is inserted through the gums and into the jawbone. A porcelain crown is then attached to the screw to become the new tooth or teeth. They can be used to support dental prosthesis including crowns, dentures, and bridges. Today’s treatments are so natural looking, no one will know you had surgery. There’s approximately a 95% success rate for all implants. With modern advances in dentistry, some implants can be restored immediately with life like all porcelain crowns. For more details ask your dentist.

Dental Implants -- Many uses and many individualized options for patients!

Implants are not a new procedure, but they may not be as well-known as some other tooth replacement options. Actually, the implant procedure has been around for several decades.

Dr. Joseph A. Narde, DDS, recognized the value that the implant procedure could deliver to patients and embarked on a yearlong course in implantology in the earlier days of practice. With a foundation in education, and the experience he has acquired, Dr. Narde are highly qualified to evaluate implant options for their valued patients.

As with many other procedures performed at Willow Point Dental, many options are offered for consideration. This allows the therapy to be coordinated precisely with individual patient need. In making their recommendation, Dr. Narde will take into account things such as the patient’s bone density, anatomy, and function.

Having a variety of options available may eliminate the need for bone grafting, which becomes a much more involved and costly process for the patient. However, if it is determined that bone grafting is required, Dr. Narde will refer the patient out to an oral surgeon.

For some patients, immediate implants may be an option. This allows a patient to achieve full functionality in a very short time.

The term “implant” actually refers to the titanium post that is surgically placed into the patient’s gum as a support for a tooth replacement. Implant technology has numerous applications. They may be used as support for a bridge, to restore a single missing tooth, to fill in for multiple teeth at a time, or to secure dentures. There are also options on the way the restoration is secured, such as either a snap-in or screw-retained.

The intricacies of these choices will be discussed between the patient and Dr. Narde in a consultation before the actual procedure, ensuring the ideal solution for the individual.

When implants are desired but budget is a concern, Dr. Narde also offer mini-implants. This option provides a simple and cost-effective solution for many patients, allowing them to secure dentures for a more comfortable wearing experience and greater security and stability.

Our caring staff and relaxing office environment add another positive dimension for an outstanding experience for your dental implant needs.
